Interview Master: a mobile-ready microlearning solution
This is a mockup for an experimental piece I designed for for a mid-size creative team that began working from home because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In Interview Master, learners can practice their interviewing skills through a series of microlearning modules.

In this piece, I wanted to bring together the idea of intuitive, user-driven design with a mobile delivery method that allowed learners easy, quick access to performance support. I imagined that these learners would be constantly on the go, with very little time for formal learning. Performance support needed to be seamlessly integrated into their work lives, woven into the very workflow of their days. It needed to be immediately available in the precise moment of need.
In order to achieve this, I started with creating a learner persona where I visualized my learner’s thoughts, feelings, and desires around their professional development. I imagined how these feelings would interact with actual business needs of the agency, and how meeting these needs might fit into (or distract from) learners current workflows.
I used Adobe XD to build this persona and to start working with the color palette I had in mind, testing it for both accessibility and mobile use (Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 compliant).
And so the design for this mLearning solution was born. Designed in Adobe XD specifically for haptic mobile use, this piece foregrounds learner choice by affording the learner the opportunity to start wherever they want. They can complete all sections or just one of them, returning later when they have a minute. Whatever they desire, the solution is always just a tap away and takes under 5 minutes to complete - the perfect performance companion.
Currently, this experimental project is undergoing user testing. With these results, I’ll revisit and potentially expand the design before delving into development.
